Family Battle feature issues and Error Codes

Earlier today many players reported issues with loading with the Family Battle that were preventing them from playing. Additionally, some players reported that they were removed from the battle or received an error code. We apologize for any inconvenience or interruption that this caused to your game-play.

Mission Event: Lead Into Gold Walkthrough

As a tie-in to the new Secret District, we get a new 7 step mission from Zynga. It will take time and does require you to do jobs in the new district, so to save on energy costs, start this right away before mastering new job tiers.

Part 1:

Activate 4 Crew in Brazil (may take 8 hours if you are already full). Acquire 8 armors via looting, city store, buying, whatever you can think of. Jungle maps come in handy, as does the Real.

Part 2:

Buy 2 Horny Toad ATVs from the Brazil Black Market (18 hour timer). Fight 40 opponents in Brazil (yes, can be the same person 40 times) and the job is 108 energy on Bronze. No loot this time, but on to the next!

Part 3:

Need to collect lots of loot here. The top 4 you need 8 each and can be acquired via jobs. I got some in Italy and Vegas as well, so don't worry about focusing on Brazil. The 10 Everglade Rat Snakes come from fighting (took me 45 fights) and the Golden Poison Frogs come from robbing (cleared almost 100 boards for those). Nice 103 attack loot for a reward.

Part 4:

Wall post help for 6 Shrapshields. Loot 18 Firebombs robbing in Brazil (took me 8 boards). 4 more Jungle Maps will come in handy in the Secret District.

Part 5:

Good old 2-for-1 special: Win 15 fights and loot 20 Golden Tigers fighting (took me 58 fights to get them). Declare war 2 times (8 hour timer for most depending on Family Perks). Nice loot in the Amazon Pit Vipers which are a random drop in the new District.

Part 6:

Ice 10 opponents in Brazil. Collect from your Barracks twice (8 hour timer) and the job costs 126 energy on Bronze. Another random new loot drop for reward.

Part 7:

Another wall post for 6 items. Amateur Tomb Raiders are 5 Stamina each on the fight list and the job is 144 energy. That's it! Great reward with the Zipa (155/85). Get started on this right away and try not to master too much before finishing the mission. Good luck and happy icing!!

Marketplace Module Shifting Problem

The Featured Items Module in the Marketplace is like our Home Page Current Events Module in the fact that it automatically rotates between pages only the pace seems to be a little bit faster.

This is a problem because it can (and does) all of a sudden switch pages when you are buying an item. I went to purchase the new Group Sale item which is currently on page #1.

To my displeasure, it switched to page #2 at the same time I was clicking. and I ended up buying 250,00 of Brazil Real for 10 Reward Points.

To rub this in my face, minutes later I saw that Brazil Real was on sale and it should have been when I made my erroneous purchase.

I have fully mastered Brazil and El Dorado and I have over 300 million Real just sitting in the bank. Does it look like I need anymore Brazil Real? Zynga should adjust the pace that the module changes or let us do it manually if we are interested in seeing all of the feature items. It's not nice to tick customers into buying items they don't want or need.

Group Sale: Capsule Launcher

The Group Sale is back in the Marketplace. The idea is to buy an item at a lower Reward Point cost and hope enough people buy one so that the stats will improve. The last time Zynga tried this it failed and never got to the Ruby Level. The new item is the Capsule Launcher. There is a ad for it on the Home Page Ad Module but I'm not really sure what they are trying to tell me as it's all jacked up.

On the Bronze Level it costs 15 Reward Points. If you miss the first level, it will be 25 Reward Points on the Silver, 30 on the Gold and 40 on the Ruby. The item will be available for 24 hours.

One you buy one, you can brag about it to your friends and alert them of the Group Sale. If they click on your post and are "lucky", they will get 5 experience points.

When your item reaches the next level you will be notified in the ZMC.

Mission Event: Return to Cuba Walkthrough

The latest mission that comes to us ties in with the temporary reopening of Cuba. Lots of speculation on the future of Cuba, but for now, get the mission done and get all the jobs mastered or you may never have a chance at those valued skill points again. As for the mission, here we go!!

Part 1:

Find 3 Brown Anoles and 4 Seaside Runners via fighting in Cuba (took me 90 Stamina). Find 5 Smokers and 6 Barrier Coats via robbing in Cuba (if you have no robbing boards in Cuba, NyC robbing will work). Great loots to start with 2 Smokers (65 attack/97 defense). For once, they actually give you money for the city of the mission's basis - Pesos!!

Part 2:

Get support from your mafia 5 times. Loot 8 Trigger Happys from fights (151 attack weapons). Took me 48 Fights. No loot, but the Trigger Happys make this step worth it.

Part 3:

Clear 3 Robbing Boards (cleared mine in NyC). Ask for 9 Backpacks (wall post help). Acquire 10 Cuban Mercenaries and you're done. Cubans you can get from free gifts, select jobs in Cuba or from collecting from your Bribery Ring. Again, great loot as a reward with the Barrier Coat (96/60) and more Pesos!

Part 4:

Win 25 fights in Cuba. Another 12 supports via Facebook requests. Then loot 6 more Mercenaries from Cuba jobs.

Part 5:

Collect from your Bodega 3 times (8 hour timer). Build a vehicle in your Chop Shop (18 hour timer). Acquire 15 more Mercenaries. This may seem like a lot of getting Mercenaries, but you will need a ton of them to finish Cuba.

Part 6:

Declare a War 3 times (8 hour timer). Ask for 8 Backpacks (wall post help). Rob 8 Mega Casinos in NyC. Great set of vehicles and more Pesos.

Part 7:

If you still have one of those wars active from the previous part, a win will count towards this mission too. You will still need to win another one as 2 victories total are required. Ice 20 opponents in Cuba, and collect the Sleet (84/155). Plan ahead and make sure to focus on the multiple collect parts as they may take up to 24 hours. Good Luck and enjoy Cuba!!

Cuba Re-Opened for a Limited Time!!

Cuba is now reopen for everyone for a limited time only. I find it hard to believe that they did a full revamp and added in new features and requirements to Cuba to only leave it open for the next 12 days, but only time will tell.

For those who hadn't completed Cuba yet, you will pick up where you left off and get 3x mastery on the old jobs. Cuba now has 4 levels in each job tier. If you completed Cuba before, you will automatically have Bronze, Silver, and Gold mastery and start in on Ruby level. The job requirements for Cuba have not increased for the Ruby level, but each job done only accounts for 3% towards Ruby mastery. That means that each job in each of the 6 job tiers needs to be done 34 times.

One thing you will notice is that Politico Corruptos are now useless. They have been replaced by Cuban Mercenaries, which can be sent as free gifts, collected from your Bribery Ring or looted from specific jobs in the first 3 Cuban tiers. Total number needed is 34x18 = 612. If you already have your Bribery Ring maxed, you will get 31 each time you collect (8 hour timer). So, you will have plenty to complete Ruby mastery if you collect even twice a day.

It's a Trap - New Mystery Bag Collection

Trying to catch up a little bit here, but in case you haven't seen/heard, there is a new Mystery Bag Collection called "It's a Trap".

Unlike the Superhero Collection, you can get more than one piece per day via Mystery Bag. The most I've picked up in 1 day has been 3, but sometimes you won't get any. Just keep plugging away at it and talk to your mafia if you get extras and attempt to swap some out.

Great reward for vaulting this collection as you get 20 skills points to allocate as you please. Doesn't seem to be any that are more difficult to get than the others, just give it time and open as many Mystery Bags as you can.

Lead Into Gold Mission Walk Through

The Lead Into Gold Mission is out and the timer is in sync with the El Dorado Secret District. You have about 9 and a half days to finish it. There are 7 parts and none require too much waiting. There was a major glitch associated with Part 3 but that was quickly patched by Zynga. I didn't encounter any bugs that prevented me from moving forward and overall it wasn't a bad Mission.

Part 1

Myth Busting

Activate four Brazil Crew members. If you have a full crew, you will have to wait until the 8 hours timer runs out. Just click on any four of the 8 plus signs.

Acquire 8 armors is the same thing we saw in the To Smuggle A Mocking Bird Mission. If you click on the "Go Now", you will be directed to the Marketplace. You don't need to buy items from the Marketplace but if your interested, make sure you buy Armor items. Fight Club and Loyalty Program items will count. The easiest way to do this task is to go to any of the City Stores and buy 8 armor items with game currency. I purchased 10 Bullet Proof Vests from the New York City Store for $4,500 and I was done. Armor items that drop from fights, jobs and robs will also count.

The loot rewards are 4 Jungle Maps.

Part 2

Underbrush

Here is somewhere we hardly ever go. The Brazil Black Market is a complete waste since Zynga refuses to update the loot items. Now you need to buy 2 Horny Toad ATVS that have stats of 28/52!. You need to wait 23 hours between purchases. What a waste of time that was.

Fight 40 opponents in Brazil. Win, lose or draw, it doesn't matter. Just make sure you are in Brazil.

Do the El Dorado job "Make A Path To The Temple" 10 times. The amount of energy you spend will depend on what level you are on. If you want to see more of what the Spockholm Toolbar will tell you, enlarge this image and check out all the information for each job you are given. There are no loot item rewards for this part of the Mission.

Part 3

Belongs In A Museum!

This part of the Mission will remind you of the Cuba Missions in which we got some decent loot items. I think Zynga learned their lesson and didn't add anything to this mix that was too powerful. This way if there is another Trigger Happy incident, nobody will care. There are a total of 6 loot items that drop from jobs, fights and robs. Use your Green Augmenter to get 2X the loot drops for only the Mission items while this part is active.

Here are the stats of all 6 items and I don't think many will care how many they get or don't get as long as credit for the Mission is given. Some of these items are so bad that they are giftable.

The first four are acquired through doing jobs.

The next one from fighting.

If you caught this part early enough you found that Treasure Chest Keys dropped when doing fights. I was working on the El Dorado post and caught it in the last 5 minutes. If you go to my fan page you will see that many were able to get thousands of Treasure Chest Keys and earned tons of Reward Points. Zynga fixed this pretty quickly and I have no updates on if there will be rollbacks or not. The three things in life you can be certain of is death, taxes and Zynga rolling back anything that has to do with Reward Points.

And the last item is from robbing.

For your crappy loot safari, you will be rewarded with a Might Girdle.

Part 4

Skeleton Key

Ask your mafia for 6 Shrapshields. Mine was autochecked so I have no idea how I got them. You can see I have zero in my inventory.

I found a post from one of my mafia members in the news feeds so I'm sure you just ask for them from the Mission Page.

Now you need to acquire even more useless loot. Get 18 Firebombs from robbing.

You will get 4 more Jungle Maps for completing all the tasks in this part of the Mission.

Part 5

The Zipa's Tomb

You can do the first and the third task at the same time. Win 15 fights and loot 20 Golden Tigers at the same time.

The Golden Tigers are cool and all but they don't even have any stats. They were one of the gifts from the Serial Assassin Gift Mastery Event. Why does Zynga want us to be loaded up with useless items in our inventory?

Declare a war 2 times and you will be done. There is a 8 hour timer between declaring wars.

I normally spend Reward Points to buy off the tasks that require a wait so I can get these walk throughs out in a timely fashion. This task used to cost 10 Reward Points now it's 15. What kind of game is this? I understand that many countries deal with inflation but a virtual game? Come on Zynga, stop trying to suck as many Reward Points out of us as you can. We will be more than happy to spend them if we don't feel like we are being taken advantage of. If I wasn't trying to get this post out, I would say screw you and wait 8 hours.

You will get 2 Amazon Pit Vipers for doing all the task above. Enjoy them because their drop rates from the El Dorado jobs really suck.

Part 6

Burning Bridges

Ice 10 opponents in Brazil.

Collect from your Barracks two times. To be strategic about this, use Union Hall to only collect on your Barracks and save the Refinery for later. Don't use the "Collect All" button if you are close to leveling.

Go to Union Hall (if you have it) and only collect your stamina. If you are on the ass end of this slow roll, use the Property Manager by Team Spockholm to collect on these properties individually.

Do the El Dorado job "Ambush An Unwitting Expedition" 15 times and you can move on.

Your loot reward is one Path of Destruction.

Part 7

Breaking Camp

The next task sounds like a gimmick but it will be to your advantage to do it. It says to "trade" 6 Gold Treasure Chest Keys for 6 Street Parties.

Click on the "Ask Now" and a news feed post will be generated so you mafia can help you.

I took before and after screen shots of my Treasure Chest Keys and my Street Parties and you can see I gained 17 Treasure Chest Keys and my Street Parties stayed the same. No wonder Zynga screwed and pretty much killed the trading community. I don't think they get what a trade really is.

Since Zynga has stated on more than one occasion that they would like to just can these Treasure Chests, you might as well open a few with your new keys. You will get a lot of crappy loot but you might get lucky and get some Reward Points. This may make you feel better if you missed out on the Treasure Chest Key glitch from Part 3. Out of 17 Treasure Chests, I got 10 Reward Points and I don't feel confident that I will be able to keep them.

Take out 15 Amateur Tomb Raiders from the Brazil fightlist. Each Amateur Tomb Raider costs 5 stamina points to attack.

Do the El Dorado job "Smuggle A Relic Overseas" 18 times and you are done with the entire Mission.

The rewards include the Grand Prize which is a Zipa and a larger than normal experience bonus.

I had never heard of a Zipa before so I Googled it. It appears this may be something that only Zynga knows about. Maybe it's how cool people say zipper. I couldn't find anything.

Treasure Chest Glitch Rollbacks

I don't know anything official at this point but a few players who encountered the Treasure Chest Key glitch are starting to report that their accounts were rolled back to a previous state. Here is how it happened. In the third part of the Lead To Gold Mission, we were required to loot 10 Everglade Rat Snakes from fighting. You can see while doing this task Treasure Keys also dropped.

Players who did not complete this part of the Mission and fought as they normally would found they got a whole lot of Treasure Chest Keys.

They used these keys to open Treasure Chests and got a lot of Reward Points by doing so.

I didn't get too many as I was working on a blog post but came out ahead with maybe 20 Reward Points. Some players reported getting thousands.

In the last part of the Mission, I got 17 Treasure Chest Keys from generating a news feed post. I'm not sure if these will be rolled back too.

I don't have anything official, I only know of a few players who were rolled back and stated they were rolled back to a certain point in time. They lost levels and anything they bought with Reward Points as well as the Reward Points. I have no verification so I can't say 100% if it's true or not. All I could find on the forums was someone complaining about the players who stumbled onto the glitch. I don;t think those people he talks about are really his friends. I wouldn't necessarily call fighting as you normally would cheating. You can't really help what drops. Again we see a fault in the code on Zynga's end so it will be interesting to see how Zynga handles this.

Treasure Chest Glitch!! Please roll back the cheaters...

wow way to go zynga....

my friends won thousands of RPs due to this glitch... & the field looks very balanced now , my friend who was weaker than me added 1.5k to his a&d in single day!! one of my friend won 1000RPs two times a day... & many others won 50+RPs. Its raining RPs!!!!

If you dont roll them back i am going to leave this game..

Family Boss Fight: Still Broken

The Family Boss Fight is still broke. There appear to be two separate issues that families are having. The first I discussed yesterday. Many can not reset the fight and it's stuck on the "Please wait a few minutes while we calculate the results!" page.

We were able to reset the Boss Fight once and only 7 of our family members participated. Most had accepted it was broke and forgot about it.

After the fight shown above, the Boss Fight Page is stuck again. Players who did not participate in this fight we unable to collect their loot items from the one before. You can see the leaderboard is all kinds of messed up. Our #2 guy, Kurdo Mo, from above is showing up with a score of 550. When compared to the image above, you can see he actually had a score of 28,640 and there were 7 players who joined the fight but only 6 on the leaderboard.

If a family is lucky enough to be able to reset the Boss Fight, they often arrive with a full Rage Meter and family members are not shown on the left column so nobody can send or receive boosts. Thanks to Jason Roberts of the [M.P.R.] for the screen shot.

I never thought I would have to write about Zynga breaking a feature that requires Reward Points to use. Many families continually do the Boss Fight and spend 25 Reward Points for each fight. The Hoff of [RYfG] has 1,145 Boss Fight loot items and even had a Street Blade drop. This family is also having issues with their Boss Fight.

Many may not care about the Family Boss Fight and could give a flip that it's broke. One forgotten issue that creeps up every now and then in The Raven (many don't care about him either). If the Family Boss Fight is a feature we can't use then Zynga should bring him back so players who are close to getting the achievement have a chance.

New Boss Fight: Still Broke

Here is a nice follow up from my last post. There is a new Family Boss in town and his name is Silverio Fallaci. According to our Fight Page, we already beat him and they are calculating the results. I'll post more information on this boss if we get a chance to fight him.

New Boss, New Loot, Same Bugs

You would think that Zynga would fix a feature before they update it but that's not the case. As I told you before there is a new show in town. Jeff is out and Silverio is in.

Well, maybe not. Jeff seems to be lingering on the Boss Page and now we have two Boss Fights.

Ironically, the working one is Jeff. I'm getting a little tired of him. You can see the same bug persists. I join the fight and it looks like I'm the only one there and the Rage Meter is at 1,000 even though I haven't attacked.

My family can't fight Silverio, but the .[Black] Family was able to get in and we see the health is still at 1 million and the Ammo items are unchanged. Thanks to Bahadır Dalgıç for the screen shot.

The superior loot rewards have changed

The rare and uncommon items for Silverio are the same as they were for Jeff. The Superior items, to include the Street Blade, have been replaced. I imagine only the players who whine to Customer Support or have a lucky horseshoe up their ass will get that violin.

Boss Fight Removed

In the continuing Boss Fight saga, the Boss Fight Home Page Module and the Boss Fight Page to include the Boss Tab have been removed. At least I had a chance to show you a sneak peek of what is probably to come.

Family Boss Fighter Updates

When Zynga makes changes in the game, Team Spockholm adapts. The Family Boss Fighter can now accommodate two Boss Fights if used in two different windows. You don't need to tell it which fight you are doing, it just knows. There have been a few new features added. You can now turn on or off the ability to ask for and/or send boosts. If you prefer to send them out manually then uncheck the "Send boosts" and "Ask for boosts" boxes. If you check the "Send Boosts" box, you can tell it how to send them by selecting "random", "top" or "bottom" and your boosts will be delivered in that order. There is also an option to stop once you achieve a certain score

You can see below that I'm fighting both Silverio and Jeff at the same time. The key to doing this is to open up two windows as the Family Boss Fighter needs an open Boss Fight window to operate.

Many still ask about the movability of this tool so I'll review it here one more time. To drag the Family Boss Fighter around your screen so you can re-position it to a spot that's cool for you, hover your mouse over the title. Cross arrows will appear and then you can drag it around and drop it in your happy place.

Bangkok Is Closed

The Betrayal in Bangkok Mission have expired and removed from the game, we no longer have access to Bangkok from now on, hopefully someone finds a glitch which allows us to get in again since Bangkok has the highest exp/stamina ratio for robbing.

If you took a look at Bangkok under the Travel menu, you will see "LOCKED OUT" under Bangkok.

I attempted to travel to Bangkok, but i have been greeted with this message instead:

During a recent audit of Mafia Wars accounts it was discovered that some accounts were showing abnormal behavior and had exceeded the expected number of Declare War rewards.

In order to maintain a level playing field for all of our customers, we have adjusted the inventory for those affected accounts to reflect the maximum number of declare war rewards that are allowed under the current system. These items were adjusted for players in the order that they were received.

Many players may have been unaware that this issue had occurred to their account, and we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Those accounts that have been adjusted will see a popup in their game that will contain messaging about the update and changes. Players who were affected by this abnormal behavior on their accounts will also see adjustments to their attack and defense stats when the items were removed. Because this issue was caused by abnormal behavior we will not be able to restore those stats or offer compensation for the issue.

The Assassin-a-Nator Plugins

The Assassin-a-Nator does not only have a lot of fans, but also a lot of feature requests .

A few of these have now been added in the form of plugins. The reason is that we want to try to keep the Assassin-a-Nator simple and yet configurable.

The plugins can be started in the configuration of the Assassin-a-Nator:

Stopping the plugins is not implemented yet, you'll have to close and restart your Assassin-A-Nator.

Assassin-a-Nator Stats Plugin

This is probably the coolest plugin for the Assassin-a-Nator. Once running, it will provide you with updated charts of the important information of your run.

You can select any combination of stats, of course not every combination makes sense.
Interesting stats are for example "ices per minute", "stamina per fhel6", VC per stamina" or "won per attack".

Assassin-a-Nator History Plugin

This is a simple plugin that lets you add a data point for Stats History on a predefined interval.

I usually set mine to make a point every level, so I can track my progress in detail.

Assassin-a-Nator Updates Plugin

You know that you are constantly attacked while using the Assassin-a-Nator. This is normal since you do not only appear on the fightlist, but also serve as a target for revenge attacks. Using this plugin you can monitor what is happening behind your back.

You can change the refresh rate (anything below 30s is not recommened if you do not want to mess with Zynga!) and the lines of log displayed. A summary may be added for this later.

Bangkok To Close Soon?

I'm hearing through the grapevine that Bangkok may be closing soon. I can't verify if it's true or not but just in case, I'll be using all of my Baht to heal when fighting.

I will miss the extra experience you get for helping and asking for help on the last Bangkok job but at my level it's not really much.

Once Faction Store items became useless, I sold them all. I decided to go buy one of each just so I would have them.

Once Bangkok is gone, we won't be able to collect boosts from our Ammo Trading Camps and Yaa Baa Parlors anymore.

The Hyper Alert Sentry and Black Market Ammo aren't that great anyways.

If you haven't finished Bangkok, you may want to try so you can get the skill points for mastering each job. There are also a few achievements along the way that you won't be able to get down the road. Maybe they will offer 3X mastery like they did with Cuba and Moscow.

The collections aren't a big deal because your mafia members can gift them to you. We still have the collections from Cuba and Moscow so I imagine these will stay as well.

Family Chat 2.0 starting to roll out!

Tired of losing wars because you’re logged off? Now you’ll be able to get instant help from your Family with the new and improved instant messaging.

Family Chat now includes 10 types of player updates from your Family that link directly to notifications like wars, operations, or gifts needed. Updates appear in 3 different colors: red for help, green for sharing rewards, and blue for requesting items.

The following player updates will appear in Family Chat:
• Declare War
• Asking for help when an opponent has declared war on you
• Operations
• Adding a rival to Hitlist
• Help for Social Job
• Level Up rewards
• Operations rewards
• Requests for Properties parts
• Requests for Energy Packs
• Requests for Collection items

You can now also pop out your chats into a separate window to view your updates and communicate with your Family easily without missing a beat in the game. The chat histories of up to five different people are saved so you can keep up with what Family members were saying while you were away. You can also choose which notices you want to appear in player updates.

Family Chat is available* only to players who are in a Family. So, if you're not part of a Family, join one today and stay up to date on your gossip.

Ice Season: 02

Ice Season: 01 ended today and immediately we got Ice Season" 02. I was hoping for a small break but they did tell us we would have a new Ice Season every week. Before you start icing, make sure you collect your reward from last week. The option will be on the far left of the Current Event Module.

Click the "Collect" button to claim your prize.

I always double check my inventory just in case I got Zynga'd.

You will also have a badge next to your profile name. Your badge may not match your reward. If you made it to the Diamond Level but didn't master it, you will have the Diamond badge but the Ruby Arctic Fox. Thanks to Tim for the screen shot.

There will be a number inside the badge to indicate how far along you got.

You will see badges on the fightlist.

Ice Season 02 is just like Ice Season 01 so go here if you need more details. The new reward is the Demonoid. The stats for each level are listed below. To see the rewards for the next two Ice Seasons, go here.

Zynga didn't get very creative with the individual ice rewards and they are identical to those of Ice Season 01 (see Bronze reward in the image above).

Track your progress on the Home Page. We have over 6 days to strive for 1,000 ices. Like with the last event, we won't get our loot until Ice Season 03 begins.

Ice Season Review

I had some time to check out the Icing Seasons Event and found a few interesting facts. There is a Current Event Module on the Home Page that somewhat tracks your progress (it fails to tell your total number of ices but you can calculate them based on your ice count for the tier and the rewards shown below).

The question mark gives a few details. This event will be a recurring weekly thing and the mastery rewards will not be given until the current event is over. We will get badges that will appear next to our Mafia Wars name. The most interesting thing is that frequent ices on the same target will be "melted" and not count towards the event.

We get different types of rewards as we progress through the each tier of mastery. When you reach a certain number of ices on each tier, you get the rewards listed below.

The rewards will be shown on the bottom of the Fight Module with all the other rewards. If you click too fast, you will probably miss them.

You also get the mastery item but that won't be added to your inventory until the event is over.

If you attack the same target too many times, the Bully Throttle is triggered and further ices to that target will not count towards mastery.

I'm not sure what the number is but it seems like quite a few. I attacked my energy account with a different energy account that had not attacked anybody else and was able to get to the third level of the Gold Tier with 5 more ices needed to get to the forth level. This calculates to be a total of 55 ices.

Kills count for two ices towards mastery. You can see in the screens below that I had 5 ices and after the kill, I had 7.

We have a little over 6 days to get as many ices as possible and it's not going to be easy. The fightlist is about 90% dead and if you're lucky enough to find a living target, somebody usually steals your ice. If you use the Assassin-a-Nator and all you care about is ices, it's best to fight in any destination except Brazil, turn the Revenge option off, reduce the number of attacks to the same target, and uncheck "Cash from same city". We've tested this and you get more ices with the Revenge feature disabled. The reason is that many of the players who steal your ices are also using the Assassin-a-Nator and are auto healing so you end up spending more stamina to ice them.

My Inventory History bookmarklet y Team Spockholm found 4 new Special Event items added to our inventory.

Lets take a closer look. They all have a square shiny looking symbol in the upper left corner of the image.

The Official Mafia Wars Blog told us that there was going to be another event involving the Family Module. Maybe this is what these items are for. We can rule out a Gifting Event since there are no mastery stars on the items and new Missions usually only have one new item.

Zynga Domain Change

I picked a good time to go off line and have some fun. I found when I was away, Zynga changed the domain of mafiawars.com to mafiawars.zynga.com. This seems simple and innocent enough but the outcome was it broke all the helping tools that many of us rely on to play the game.

You may not realize it but every time you unframe your Mafia Wars game, you are directed to the site above. All scripts that have the site written into them need to be updated. Team Spockholm was extra busy and most of their tools should now work fine. If you find any of the Spocklets aren't working, go here to let them know.

If you use the Inventory History, Stats History and Mafia Manager bookmarklets, you may find that all of your stored data has vanished. You can go here to learn a method to restore your Stats History data. It doesn't work for all players.

The Ties That Bind Mission Walk Through

The Ties That Bind Mission is just like all the others. I don't mind Missions because of the experience bonuses but they are getting old. One every two weeks would be better than one right after another. The last Mission had to be planned out just so because of all the property collecting tasks. This Mission will require that you use a lot of energy as there many tasks requiring you to do Brazil jobs. There are only 7 Parts to this Mission so that's a nice break.

Part 1

Thorn in the Side

Get four of your mafia members to join your Mission. Don't forget to use the Mission Crew Link or Link-a-Nator by Team Spockholm to make this task much faster.

Activate four of you Brazil Crew positions. Make sure you activate the Lockpick Bonus because you will need it for Part 2.

Loot 8 "Units of Brazil of Brazil Cash" from fights. You will see these units of cash slide across your fight screen. I'm not sure if they contain additional cash to what you already won for the fight or if they just represent that cash.

Craft 2 items from your Weapons Depot. There is an 18 hour timer between crafts.

Part 2

Hit Him Where It Hurts

You need to loot 12 Sonic Emitters which will drop from the Brazil District 4 job "Scout Out the City". If you've ruby mastered this job it will cost 567 energy. The drop rate is not 100% so this could cost a decent amount of energy.

If you activated the Lockpick Bonus in part one of this Mission, you will get 2 Sonic Emitters whenever one drops. That should help with the energy costs.

Sonic Emitters are giftable but you won't get credit for sending or accepting these gifts. I tried and it didn't work.

Now win 15 fights. Only fights in Brazil will count and a successful Power Attack will count as 5 fights for this task. You don't get any loot rewards for this part of the Mission.

Part 3

Come Alone

Get Support from your mafia 5 times.

Clear 2 robbing Boards. You can do this in any destination. It doesn't matter if you win or lose, you just need to attempt to rob all 9 properties on the board for it to count.

Now loot 15 Suspension Coils from the Brazil District 3 job "Bribe a Police Commandant".

The same rules for looting the Sonic Emitter in Part 1 apply here. There are no loot rewards to collect when you complete this part of the Mission.

Part 4

Stiffed

Fight 24 opponents. It doesn't mention that your opponents have to be in Brazil but they do. You get credit if the player is already iced and when you lose the fight. You get 5 credit for 5 opponents (even though it's technically 1) if you use the Power Attack button.

Do the Brazil District job "Auction Off a Rival's Private Island" 12 times. Each job costs 702 energy if you have ruby mastered it so your looking at about 8,424 energy to get it done (less if you get lucky and get a Top Mafia bonus).

Declare War two times. There is an 8 hour timer between wars so plan accordingly.

Collect from your Barracks two times. It's so annoying that they can say to collect from your Barracks when in fact you have to collect from all of your Brazil properties because there isn't an individual collection button. Make sure your stamina and energy are down before doing this or you will miss out.

You will get 3 Jackalopes when you collect your rewards for Part 4. Thanks to all the new loot, these items can now go into the crap pile.

Part 5

Kid's Got Spunk

The first objective was auto clicked for me. I don't know if I got credit for extra clicks the last time I asked for support from my mafia or if there is another bug like the last Mission and need to ask your mafia for a specific item which I already had. Anyways, I'm not complaining.

Take out 20 Influential Politicians which can be found on the Brazil fightlist. Each on costs 6 stamina to attack and you will notice they are now orange and easier to spot on the fightlist.

Do the Brazil District 1 job "Assassinate a Politician at a Museum Gala" 25 times. At 189 energy, this seemed like a treat. It will cost 4,725 energy. I'm getting mad that I haven't gotten any of the Ruby Level Loot for any of the Brazil jobs this Mission has required. There are no loot rewards.

The Slum Lord Boost

Now that it also drops from Mystery Boost Packs and is more readily available, it's a good time to review it again. Collect Slum Lord Boosts from Secret Drops and Mystery Boost Packs.

Slum Lord Boosts are used as soon as you collect on any property. If your boosts are turned off, they will still be utilized.

Each Slum Lord Boost works on only one property. If you use the "Collect All" button, all of your boosts up to the number of properties that are collected upon will be used. I was saving mine for my Mega Casino and all 3 disappeared when I collected on my Brazil Properties.

If your working on your New York money achievements, it's best to search for these boosts right before you are ready to collect on your Mega Casino. I run the Get-a-Nator and get my 3 Secret Drops for the day then open a bunch of Mystery Boosts if I didn't get one from the Secret Drop.

When it's time for you to collect on your Mega Casino, make sure you use the individual "Collect" button and not the "Collect All".

Normally, I would collect $239,062,320,000 from my Mega Casino every 48 hours (assuming that nobody robbed it). With the Slum Lord Boost, I get $358,593,480,000. It doesn't seem like much when you need 999 Trillion dollars but every little bit helps.

Once the Ruby Loot Event is over, I'll use my energy to do the Agostino Cleto Boss Fight as many times a day as possible. My pay out for each fight is currently about the same as what I can collect on my Mega Casino and very soon it will exceed that.

Team Spockholm has done it again. The Checklist got a major update to version 2.0. If you want to know more about the checklist, please read this post about the version 1.0.

So, what is new? The UI was updated with a configuration menu where you can add and remove tasks, create and share your own tasks and set options for the display. Under the hood the Checklist now saves its status to the Dom Storage, which reduces the risk of having a too large cookie.

Lets take a look at the changes.

As you see, the configuration has moved to a dialog just like the Assassin-a-nator. Only the icons for help, config, close and the function to move Mafia Wars are still there.

If you click the config button, you'll see the new configuration dialog:

In the upper left corner, you can set the settings for the Checklist. This is just like the old settings. Show seconds shows you the exact timer instead of minutes, scrolling allows players with a small screen or lots of items to use scrolling in the checklist, and the sorting by remaining time.

Next to it you can see a short FAQ with answers to the most frequent questions. Click on the link to open the answers.

Lets take a look at the list of items. You'll see the ones you are using in green and the disabled ones in red. You have three categories of items. The standard items that you already know from version 1, a tab for your own items and a tab for Fan Library items. In the columns behind the name you see basic information about each item. The re-occurrence, target and update. They are more interesting when you start creating your own items.

Clicking on the name adds or removes them from the Checklist. When they are added back, you lose your timing, as they are always added as unchecked. But this is not a serious problem, as you can now manually set the timer for all "every xxx hours" events by clicking on the yellow clock item in the list. Just enter the remaining time and the due timer will be set.

In the next tab "Own Items" you will see nothing right now. Click on "Add new Item", "Add item from code" or click on the "copy" symbol of any item in the "Standard Items"-Tab to create your own.

You will see the "Edit item" dialog come up.

Here you can enter or edit the information for your item. Description is the name that appears in the list.
Re-occurence defines when this task is due. You can select between following options:

You can set an item to a time span, i.e. every 4 hours, or to a specific time of the day. For easier sharing they are saved as Zynga Standard Time, that is PST. Midnight local time is the time when your gift limits are reset. Manual selection means the user can choose the interval by clicking on the little "swirl" behind the item in the Checklist.

For the action, there are also different options:

The ingame-links are not easy to handle and require in-depth knowledge of the system. It is recommended that you only copy them from other items or better not mess with them at all. The Spocklet-option can of course contain any bookmarklet url, but Spockholm bookmarklets are recommended. External websites will automatically load in a new window/tab when clicked.

The "Update" field is the id of an html element where an item can be updated from by clicking on the "swirl".

Now save your item, click it and it will be added to your Checklist.

Of course you now want to share it with your friends! To do so, click on the "export" item in the list and post it to your wall.

You can import items by copying the code, clicking "Add item from code" and pasting the code there and clicking "save".

Jackpot Anything To Win Mission Event WalkThrough

One mission ends and another begins. This one is very time consuming and without careful planning, you will be spending Reward Points to finish this in time. 9 parts, let's get started.

Part 1:

Job in NyC costs 27 energy. War has an 8 hour timer and the Mob Connections are 2 Stamina each on the fight list. Great rewards throughout this mission and you start with an Emu which will make it in your top 501 for attack and defense.

Part 2:

Wall post for 5 Manila Envelopes. Vegas jobs is 108 energy. Clear 3 robbing boards in any city. Not much for rewards on this step other than that NyC cash that everyone needs.

Part 3:

24 hour timer on the hotel so you will be waiting a minimum of 48 hours to finish this step. The job costs 27 energy as long as you have the consumable, otherwise that job will cost you 9 energy. Search wall posts for war help as you need 3 of them, but should find that many in the 2 days you are waiting for the first step.

Part 4:

21 energy cost on the NyC job. Armory has an 18 hour timer, so again, 36 hours to complete this step at minimum. Getting the idea of time needed for this mission yet??? Great rewards with 2 guns.

Part 5:

8 hour timer on the flophouse collection. Activate 4 members of your brazil crew which could take up to 8 hours to clear. 3 supports from your mafia (wall post). Reward is the Monofin which some may remember from the Crack the Safe event a while back.

Part 6:

8 hour timer on the Brazil property. Job in NyC costs 11 energy. 8 hour timer on the war. I would suggest with this event to not collect anything and not start any wars until the mission tells you to.

Part 7:

3 Stamina on the fight list for the Former Allies and 3 energy on the easy job in NyC. Great rewards with 3 weapons.

Part 8:

48 hours on the Mega Casino collect. Took me 42 boards to find 6 casinos to rob, so I suggest robbing off the fight list. 8 hour timer on the wars again.

Part 9:

Easy check on the first step. You have to fill all spots in Brazil, so it will take 8 hours to clear. 10 supports from your mafia and win 40 fights. Loot is great and the mission is done.

The bare minimum timeline for this event is 132 hours, so you have very little wiggle room if you don't want to spend the Reward Points. Good Luck and I hope you hit the Jackpot!!

The Assassin has returned, so get ready to hunt him down

Q: How do I find the Assassin?

A: Ice opponents from the fight list. The Assassin is almost always in stealth mode, so be patient and keep icing. When you pick up his trail, a banner will appear on the fight page notifying you that you are close. Keep icing.

Q: How do I fight the Assassin?

A: Once you pick up the Assassin’s trail, Ammo to fight the Assassin will start to drop from jobs, fights, robbing, and icing.

Q: Are the Ammos (consumables) the same as other boss fights?

A: A new Ammo, Sniper Shots, will drop from icing. Sniper shots replace the shotgun blasts for that you use in other boss fights for Assassin fights only.

The other ammos remain the same. Knife slashes, knuckle punches, and crack of the bat will drop from jobs, fights, and robbing, respectively.

Q: How long does it take to find the Assassin?

A: Finding the Assassin is extremely difficult because he’s stealthy. You’ll need to ice many players to hunt him down and it may take days. There is no time limit to find him.

Q: How will I know when I find the Assassin?

A: Once you have tracked down the Assassin, he will appear in the fight list, on the homepage banner, and on the operations page.

Q: How long do I have to fight the Assassin?

A: Once he appears on the fight list, you have 8 hours to kill him. During this 8-hour period, he will not heal.

Q: Do I need stamina to fight the Assassin?

A: No. You will need to use the Ammos – knife slashes, knuckle punches, crack of the bats, and sniper shots to attack the Assassin.

Q: Are there special combos for the Assassin fight?

A: Yes. Use the correct order of four Ammos in a row to unlock special combos. The yellow and green C-C-Combos are the same for all players. However, there are 6 different red combos to fight the Assassin. This means that the red combo that works for you may not the same for your friends.

Q: What do I get for beating the Assassin?

A: Those who defeat the Assassin will receive the ultimate armor Assassin’s Jacket (170 attack, 100 defense).

Q: Can I fight the Assassin again immediately after I beat him?

A: No. There is a three-day waiting period before you can find his trail again and hunt him down.

Ruby Level Loot Event FAQ

Q: When does this event begin?A: This event is scheduled to begin on 07/14/11. As with many of our features, this collection event will be slowly rolled out to our players to ensure stability within the game. Due to the gradual release of this event it may not be immediately available to all of our players.

Q: Why are new events always released to a limited audience?A: When we release a new feature into the game, we want to ensure that it does not create instability and functions in the way that it was intended. Although we try to release it to the wider audience as quickly as possible, it is imperative that we make sure that it will not interfere with your enjoyment of the game.

Q: Can I manually be added this event if I contact Customer Support?A: Unfortunately our agents will not be able to manually add you to this event. The wider audience of players will be added in a gradual fashion and our agents do not have the means to expedite this process.

Q: On what date is this event scheduled to end?A: This event is scheduled to conclude on 07/22/11. To keep you on track there is a countdown timer on the home screen.

Q: How will this event work?A: Players will need to collect 7 different loot items that can be found by completing jobs in a district that has been previously mastered to the Ruby level in Brazil.

Q: What if I do not have any of the districts mastered to Ruby?A: If you currently do not have any Ruby districs completed in Brazil you still have the opportunity to participate in this event. You will need to complete at least one district to the Ruby level, which will trigger the event. You can then repeat that level (or any others that you complete) to find the Ruby loot drop items.

Q: Will the regular loot items drop as well?A: Yes! The drops for this event are in addition to the regular loot drops and will appear in the tray along with your other loot drops.

Q: How do I keep track of what I have in my inventory?A: There is a Ruby level loot inventory tab that is located on the right side of the missions bar. When you click the ruby-colored star, it will expand to show you the status of your items. To close this status bar you will need to click the gem again, which is located on the left side when open.

Q: Does 2x loot drop boosts apply to this event?A: No. For this event you will receive only a single loot drop for the Ruby mastery item. This also includes the Lockpick Brazil crew member.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of items that I can collect?A: There is not a limit to the number of items that you can collect or the number of mastery items that you can trade a full set in for.

Q: How do I see the stats for any of the 7 items?

A: When your Ruby Level loot bar is open, click on any of the 7 items that you want to view to see the stats and name of that item.

Q: Is there a grand prize or bonus prize if I get a full set of Ruby Level Loot?

A: No. But if you get all 7 rare gems, congrats! You are a rock star.

Q: Can I purchase these items?A: No. These items are not found in the Marketplace and can only be found while doing jobs in Brazil districts that have been mastered to Ruby.

Q: Are stamina packs available to everyone?

A: No. We will release the feature to 90% of users initially. We want to make sure that this feature functions in the way that it is intended and doesn’t create instability. You will be able to receive stamina packs from friends if you are not part of the initial experiment, but you will be unable to send stamina packs back to them.

Q: When will this feature be available to all players?

Jackpot Mission Walk Through

The Jackpot Mission is just like all the others before it. The loot along the way is a little better and this Mission focuses mostly on New York and you get a lot of New York cash as part of the rewards. Not nearly enough to touch the What's After Trillion achievement but more than you would expect. You would think that a Mission called Jackpot would have a lot of involvement with Las Vegas but there is only one task to do there. There are 10 days to do the Mission but there are quite a few parts that could slow players down.

Part 1

For Love or Money

Do the New York Capo job "Steal Bank Records" ten times.

Declare one war. It doesn't matter if you win or lose the war, you just need to declare it.

Now take out 10 Mob Connections found on the New York fightlist. Each one costs 2 stamina to attack.

The loot reward is a Emu which is will be an active item for most players. This is way better than the crap we are used to seeing with prior Missions.

Part 2

Dirty Money

Ask you mafia for 5 Manila Envelopes. Generate your request right from the Missions Page by clicking "Ask Now". You can ask once every 2 hours. I only got 4 out of the 5 for this Mission. I could have contacted Customer Support but decided to just buy it off for 4 Reward Points.

Do the District 2 Las Vegas job "Help A Bookie Out of A Jam" 10 times. If you mastered this job on the Ruby level, it costs 108 energy.

Clear 3 robbing boards in any destination and you are done. There are no loot rewards for this part of the Mission.

Part 3

Partners in Crime

Collect on your Uptown Hotel 3 times. Uptown Hotels can only be collected on once every 24 hours so this may slow some people down.

Do the New York Enforcer Tier job "Wiretap the Cops" ten times. The job only cost 27 energy but you need Wiretap Devices to do each one.

Wiretap Devices can be made in the same tier or you can put them on your wishlist.

If you can find 3 wars to help in before the bots this task will be easy. If not it may take some time. Even if you lose, you still get credit for helping.

There are no loot rewards but you get 4 Hired Guns. Somebody out there probably needs them.

Part 4

The Numbers Game

Do the New York Enforcer Tier job "Rob and Electronics Store" 20 times.

Build three Armory items. There is a 18 hour timer between crafts which you can speed up for 12 Reward Points. You could also buy off the entire objective for 15 Reward Points but you won't get the benefit of the skill points for crafting Armory items.

You get 2 Huecuvas for completing all tasks in this part of the Mission. These will help a lot of players. They didn't do much for me as they aren't active in my inventory.

Part 5

Watching Your Back

Collect on your Flophouse one time. The Flophouse can be collected once every 8 hours.

Activate four Crew Member slots in Brazil. There is a 8 hour timer between Crew Member activation so try not to activate at least four of them before you get to this task.

The last task in this part of the Mission is bugged. It says to "Get Support from your mafia" but it's not what you think.

When I attempted to generate my Mission Crew link, Team Spockholm told me that I didn't have a Mission available.

I clicked on the "Ask Now" button, I got a news feed post asking my mafia for Sets of Documents. This is what you need to do to complete the Mission. I just knew Team Spockholm wasn't wrong.

The loot reward is one Monofin. That's cool!

Part 6

Back To Work

Collect from your Brazil Headquarters one time. Since there aren't individual collection buttons, make sure you have used most of your energy and stamina and aren't close to leveling. When collecting on this property, you will collect on your Refinery and Barracks as well.

Do the New York Hitman Tier job "Reel the Yakuza" 20 times.

Win a war and you are done. You can get credit for a war that you help with if you are the person to attack the last target. Otherwise you'll have to wait until you declare and win one of your own wars. There are no loot rewards for this part of the Mission.

Part 7

Just One More?

Take out 25 Former Allies on the fightlist. Each one costs 3 stamina to attack.

Do the New York Associate Tier job "Take Out a Rogue Cop" 20 times.

The loot reward is three Prison Chain Whips. These should help everybody.

Part 8

Ticket Please

Collect from your Mega Casino 2 times. Mega Casinos can only be collected on once every 48 hours so it's important to plan this one out or you could find yourself short on time.

Rob 6 Mega Casinos. This could take a while from the robbing board but robbing individuals will count as well.

Declare two wars and you're done with this part of the Mission. There are no loot item rewards.

Part 9

Winner Winner

The first task requires that you travel to Brazil. If you are already there, you will get credit. I'm not sure how many Reward Points it would cost for this but I can't imagine there is someone out there that lazy. Task two requires that you activate 8 Crew Members in Brazil.

Task three is the same thing as in Part 5. It says to get "Support from your mafia" but when click on "Ask Now" you get a news feed post asking your mafia for a set of Documents.

Now just win 40 fights and you'll get the Grand Prize loot item, the Splint Cycle and $100,000,000,000 New York cash.

We’re excited to announce that the Request window, which is used to send & ask for gifts, ask for help with Missions, ask your Mafia members to join your Brazil City Crew, etc., will soon receive an upgrade to make requesting help from your Mafia easier than ever! Here are the changes coming to the Requesting experience:
A New Look: The Facebook-style list and buttons that currently appear in the Request window will be replaced to better match the look of Mafia Wars. (See image* at left.) *Note: The image is a mockup/piece of concept art. The look and features of the new Request window may change prior to release.
Select More Recipients: The maximum number of recipients you can select will increase to 50!
Fewer Clicks Required: You will now be able to check a box that allows you to skip seeing Facebook's post preview and second "Send Requests" button when you send requests to the exact same group of recipients in the future.
When you check the box and click Facebook's "Send Requests" button for the first time, the group of recipients is essentially whitelisted for future requesting without the Facebook step. You can whitelist as many groups of 1-50 people as you like, but, due to Facebook limitations, the individual members of groups you whitelist are NOT whitelisted on their own. This means that, when you whitelist groups (and even individuals), you will have to remember to select exactly the same group of recipients in the future to be able to send requests without having to see and click Facebook's post preview and second "Send Requests" button.
Details About the Roll-out
We're eager to give everyone the upgraded Requesting window, but we regrettably need to roll it out slowly to ensure stability. We've already released it to a randomly-selected 10% of all Mafia Wars players, and we expect to roll it out to 100% of players within the next few weeks. Also, while the Request window appears in all the places mentioned earlier, the upgraded Request window will initially only appear when you request Brazil Crew. You will know you've been added to the new Request window experiment, then, when you return to the game and discover that your Brazil Crew Request window looks more like the one pictured above.

Special Parts Prevail: Zynga Listens!

In the past few days two new items, the American Dream and the Flag Bearer, have been added to the Free Gift Page. Normally when anything new is added, the Special Part which most players find useful is removed. This was not the case and it appears Zynga is listening to our feedback. Prior to the Freedom Fighters Gift Event, Hollow Points and A10 Riot Shields were on the Free Gift Page.

The American Dream replaced the one of them and the totally useless Satchel of Lira was added to replace the other. The Special Part prevailed.

The Flag Bearer replaced that Satchel of Lira but the Special Part is still here! For the love of crap, could they permanently remove the Mystery Animals?

Freedom Fighters Gifting Event: Gift #2 Unlocked

Gift #2 of the Freedom Fighters Gifting Event, The Flag Bearer, unlocked today.

Find it on your Free Gift Page.

The Flag Bearer is the only attack boost offered in this event and will add +150 to your attack skill for one fight. You get 5 Flag Bearer boosts for each free gift.

When you collect 4, 10 and 20 you master the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels.

For you efforts you are rewarded with a Parade Leader that increases in stats with each level you master.

Spam the news feed to let all your friends know how awesome you are because you clicked on 34 gifts.

Fighting boosts don't really get me excited. They are so short lived and I there are very few players you could attack that they would have any impact no matter how great of a fighter you are. If you lose a fight, you are probably still going to lose even with a boost. Just for fun, I threw all of my Flag Bearer links in the Bagman-Mugger. You can see there is no limit on how many we can accept per day other than the 200 a day free gift limit.

Now I have a total of 505 Flag Bearers that probably will do nothing for me.

Earn 400 Reward Points with The Discover More Card

I noticed this on the bottom of the Jobs and Fight Pages for a few days now. You can get 400 Reward Points if you apply for a Discover Card and are approved. If you already have a Discover Card or had one in the past the offer does not apply. I'm sure anybody who went to college had one of these. This probably excludes the majority of the player base. Who would want a Discover Card anyways?

There are more limitations but in true Zynga form, we don't get a link to see what they are.

Clicking the "Sign up Now!" button takes you to the Discover Application Page. That's the point where I stopped. The last thing I need is a credit card. In Las Vegas we always say "Cash is King". When purchasing Reward Points, it's best to use PayPal or a wire transfer to avoid paying more in interest.

Back to Fighting.. one of my favorite Fighting tool ie Brawler from Arun's Mafia Wars Helpers is not functioning for me lately.. not sure if Arun has updated with the working one, will check it later on.. But now I want to share about new Fighting tool from Spockholm team : Assassin-a-Nator!

The latest version by the time this post made is Assassin-a-Nator v0.25 but I'm sure new version is currently being fixed for saving our click finger.
Just drag the tool to your browser and use it under unframed windows.

This tool is similar with AttackX from Spockholm team but now it can find & attack all the opponents on the Fight list, not just one target.
Feel free to make the new Configuration/Setting for this tool.. Change the Filter, check on the Power Attack option, and don't forget to donate some.

I'm very impressed to see that the Official Mafia Wars Blog has posted the 3rd of there series called This & Next Week. I hope the guy who wrote this got tired while doing the "This Week" part and requests that Zynga slow things down.

Who cares what already happend? I wish I could forget about most of it. Now for the good stuff. The first bug, I posted about during the past few Missions. This started happening once they changed it so kills would count as two ices. Now they just need to fix the news feed posts too. The second bug I noticed but thought it was just something specific to my account. Not really a big deal but I'm glad it's fixed.

This Week's Major Bug Fixes

BUG: Kills, which count as two ices elsewhere in the game, were not counting at all toward ice counters in "Ice X opponents" mission tasks.
FIXED: Kills now add 2 to mission task ice counters.
BUG: Friend names were not filtering correctly while one typed in the "Start Typing a Name" box on the Free Gifts page and the Inventory Gifting page.
FIXED: Name lists now filter correctly in response to what a player types.

Either next week is going to be relaxing or the blog guys didn't get all the specs. I hope it's the former. What would a week be without a Limited Time Mission? Most of us expect those to happen so it's not a big news flash. According to the specs.. Like I've stated in the past, anything that has the word "Mystery" in it usually sucks. I don't think Popeye is going to give up his spinach over it this mystery.

A funny thing happened when I pressed "Start" on the Assassin-a-Nator. I was told by Team Spockholm that it appeared I had the old fighting layout.

That can't be true, right? I double checked and sure enough I do.

At first I thought that everyone in the {ASS} Family got reverted because Zynga wanted to join all the {ASS} haters but I checked the Zynga Forums. It was a temporary thing and now 100% of all players should have the new Fight Module.

Zynga Files 1 Billion IPO Today

It's been talked about for a while now but today Zynga filed it's S-1 Form with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). I don't know much about all this stuff but you can go here to view the entire S-1 Form. It's quite extensive but all the information is there if you feel like going through it. Freedom Fighters Gifting Event

We haven't had a gifting event for a while and this one comes along in celebration of the 4th of July. Once again, 3 gifts with 3 tiers of mastery and there is a Grand Prize. A little something different this time is that the gifts actually do something for you. Each time you accept one of these limited time gifts, you will get 5 boosts. Here are the breakdowns:

As you can see, the gifts are pretty good for this type of event. Achieving Gold Level Mastery on each will yield a loot with a score of 100+ strength.

The first gift is a +150 defense boost, followed by a +150 attack boost and the final is a +200 defense boost. You can pick these up from wall posts or via free gifts.

The tiers are 4/10/20 and if the past events are any indication, we will be able to cycle through this 3 times once all 3 gifts are released. Good luck everybody and Happy 4th!!

I was bummed out that Energy and Stamina Refills were back to costing 10 Reward Points. It would have been cool to let this thing go over the weekend.

Death By Ice - Mastery Reward Bug

Freedom Fighters Gifting Event

New gifting event started today. You have 10 days to collect your gifts (boosts). The first gift American Dream is now available on the Free Gift page.
Number of gifts (boosts) required to master each level are:
• Bronze – 4 gifts
• Silver – 10 gifts
• Gold – 20 gifts
(Total required = 34 per Freedom Fighters gift type)
Players who reach the Gold Mastery for each level of the Freedom Fighters event will achieve the Grand Prize of the Freedom Fighter. Collect and master three items:

American Dream (Boost +150 defense skills)
Flag Bearer (Boost +150 attack skills)

Fireworks (Boost +200 defense skills)

Leaving A Family Mid Ice

A common question that I get is "Will you still get to keep the Death By Ice Loot if you leave your Family". I had an energy account in the {ASS} Family and decided to leave so a real player could join and participate.

The answer to the burning question is Yes. Here is the Ruby level Ma taken from the inventory of the account above after leaving the {ASS} Family. You can see it's still active. The player who joined right after was able to collect a Ruby Level Ma as soon as he was accepted into the {ASS} Family. I will work on finding a Family with a vacant spot and a Ma to see if my energy account can join and collect a second loot item. I didn't have time to coordinate that tonight.

Black Market Mission Event Walkthrough

Just cranking out these missions now, but Zynga seems to be getting more user friendly on these. Minimal ask for helps, NyC based and multiple options for looting the needs. 9 steps to this one and 9 days to do it.

Part 1:

Starts off with asking for 3 Manila Envelopes from your Mafia (wall post help). The Illegal Poker Game job does require consumables, so if you don't have the Decks and Tokens, you will need to spend 9 energy x2 on those plus 18 energy for the actual job. Collect from your Office Park twice (12 hour timer). No loot, but you get some Brazil cash.

Part 2:

Looting the Gold Machine Pistols can be done two different ways. The job costs 14 energy or you can get them via Robbing (I spent 640 Stamina getting them). The Bulletproof Trenchcoats can be looted by doing a 54 energy job or by fighting (32 fights got me all of them). The Intimidated Mobsters cost 5 Stamina each on the fight list. Decent Defensive Armors and more Brazil cash.

Part 3:

Buy 1 item from the Black Market (23 hour timer). Fight 16 Opponents and the job is 32 energy. Great animals for a reward here.

Part 4:

4 Mafia Supports. Collect from your Restaurat 3 times (2 hour timer). Clear 3 Robbing Boards. 67 Attack weapons should make it into most arsenals.

Part 5:

2-for-1 special. Win 10 fights and the Drug Shipments took me 23 fights to loot the 7. No loot, but more Brazil cash.

Part 6:

Build 2 Weapons at the Depot (18 hour timer). Ice 6 Opponents (may take a little longer than normal as the icing event has most of the fight lists dead). Job costs 22 energy. Great armor and vehicles for your reward.

Part 7:

4 more supports from your mafia. The Human Traffickers are 11 Stamina each on the Fight List and the job costs 25 energy (took me 121 jobs to loot the 18 Broken Arms). No loot again.

Part 8:

Loot 20 sets of Illegal Transaction Records (Job costs 40 energy or it took me 53 fights). Rob 12 Pawnshops. Took me 610 Stamina Robbing to loot the 10 Reinforced Bowlers. Jobs costs 49 energy. 8 total loots to strengthen your mafia.

Part 9:

Buy 2 items from your Port (23 hour timer). Declare 1 war (8 hour timer). Ring Overseers are 15 Stamina on the Fight List. Great little mastery item: Widow Knife.

Good luck everybody. As always, get started as soon as possible as some of the timers will have you waiting for a day or two.

Death by Ice Family Fighting Event

It was only a matter of time that the new family feature got built into an event. Here it comes in the form of an ice-as-many-as-you-can free-for-all. There are 4 levels of mastery to the reward, each coinciding with the total number of icings obtained by everyone in your family. Get into a family as soon as possible and get to icing. Your count does not start over when you join a family, you continue to build on their current progress.

The mastery item here is "Ma". Pretty good stats along the way, but after the first one or two levels, you will need to do lots of work. Unless you join in with an already large family, you will need to be fighting multiple times daily to get to Ruby mastery. With less than 8 days to finish, you will need almost 4,000 ices per day per family. The top 10 icing families will earn the "Two Headed Snake" which comes with 175/175 for stats and 20 Skill Points to spend as you see fit. There are 3 tiers of this animal in the inventory, so I'm guessing there will be other tiers for this bonus prize.
